I. Asimov

Isaac Asimov

One of the greatest science fiction writers, Isaac Asimov. He talks about his life with very clear and unbiased views, about his profession as a writer, relationships, and craft called writing...

Rusty: The boy from the hills

Ruskin Bond

The best-loved author from India. Somehow I can relate myself with Rusty in my early childhood days. I spend 4/5 years with my father at Chikhaldara, in Satpura central India mountain ranges. He was a teacher there and the rest of my family used to stay in town Amravati...

Boy

Roald Dahl

The autobiography book "Boy" by Rold Dahl is interesting accounts of adventures from a kid's point of view. I especially like the boarding experiences with his teachers. These are very similar to my Central school days. All three writers (Ruskin Bond, Rold Dahl, Isac Asimov biography I read recently in lockdown period are from 1920/30 era, who witnessed great depression and world wars and survived successfully (choice of book was by accident I realized later). "Why writer writes..."

Teacher Man

Frank McCourt

One of the most sincere expressions of the teacher, without showcasing the intellectual arrogance. This book talks about creative writing and the importance of unsung writers in society who writes excuse letters, food recipes, movie reviews, which we don't consider a piece of writeups.

The most important part of the book is the stories about American teenagers, problems, concerns, lifestyle, liking, upbringing, and hardship. In general, it is a very important book, tells us how to deal with teenagers sensitively. How to avoid the mistakes while educating them as parents and teachers...

Sapiens

Yuval  Harari

A certain concept of human evaluation which I understood wrongly was clarified like there were 6 species of humans with the same genus chimpanzee. Only one species survived through all the odds not due to bigger brain size, but they were masters of fiction stories. They could co-operate in masses due to sharing the trust of collective imagination like nationality, currency, trade, judiciary, religion. We still share our bindings with that...

Lord of the flies

William Golding
Very good book, talks about human civilization/evolution in short. For me it is an psychological experiments conducted on innocent mind (Kids) to study politics, moral, code of conduct and  their search of happiness (Does it exist?)....
